Mike Wells has been a trusted advisor to clients for over 40 years. He concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, estate administration, elder law planning, complex civil litigation, workers’ compensation, personal injury, and fiduciary litigation. He has also advised a wide variety of businesses and individuals over his career on a range of many legal issues. He is the recipient of numerous accolades as a lawyer and an engaged community servant worthy of the trust and confidence clients and citizens place in him.

Mike is known as a lawyer who seeks to find a common sense and efficient solution for clients and to provide a direct and affordable pathway to the best result. He listens carefully to the needs and desires of his clients with direct and understandable communication. He has held numerous local, regional and statewide leadership and professional positions, including as President of the North Carolina Bar Association (2012-2013), and as a member of the North Carolina State Bar Ethics Committee. He has been consistently chosen as one of the most influential people in the Triad by Triad Business Magazine.

Mike has provided thousands of hours of pro bono advice over nearly 25 years as the well-known, trusted and approachable host of “You and the Law,” a public-service legal call-in show in Winston-Salem on WSJS 600 AM (1991-2016), and as the author of a monthly column on the law for the Winston-Salem Journal since 2003. A published author, Mike writes a very popular regular column, “What I’ve Learned about Life on the Way to the Courthouse,” many of which have been broadcast on WFDD radio and National Public Radio in North Carolina, and published in the Clemmons Courier and North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
