News You Can Use

Favorite columns, courtesy talks, and a note of thanks.

Friends,

I have been privileged to write a regular column on the law for the Winston-Salem Journal since 2003. The topics cover a wide array of common legal issues. It is believed to be the longest-running column on common legal issues in North Carolina. I am grateful for this longstanding relationship with the Journal since I am not an employee of the Journal but in private practice.

Many of the columns are noted on our website at www.wellslaw.us, and several favorites are linked below for you and the people you care for.

For your group

Courtesy Talks on the Law

I get requests from many of you about giving a courtesy talk to a group in which you are involved about common legal subjects such as estate planning, ten things you should know about the law, common scams, and other subjects that may involve the law. I have given over two hundred fifty of them over time, and I am always glad to help as I am able.

Over the last months I have spoken to many retirement centers, plus any number of senior citizen groups, companies, governmental groups, service clubs, and non-profit organizations. We are scheduling talks into the fall and beyond when we receive a request as my schedule allows. If you feel a topic of interest would be helpful to your group, let us know, since my time for these courtesy talks each month is limited.
